I transformed an open dining area into a beautiful, modern, and bright home office for this season’s One Room Challenge.
I am participating as a guest blogger with many other bloggers in the One Room Challenge where everyone gets to makeover a room of their choice over 8 weeks.

Its the final week of the One Room Challenge and it’s time to reveal the end result! Weeks of hard work have led to this beautiful, modern and bright home office
I couldn’t be more happier!!! 😊
Building this home office has been the most rewarding, exhilarating and satisfying experience. I am so happy that I participated in this challenge.
The final week was a scramble to get the whole project completed
Here is what my home office looks like! 😊
When I posted last week, I had stenciled the wall, built cabinets, trimmed doors and drawer fronts.
This week was putting all the pieces of the puzzle together.
Since this is not a one woman job, I recruited my husband to help with the rest. I guess that inspired the kids and they pitched in too!
it turned out to be a fun family project with all of us racing to the finish line together 😊
We started by hanging the cabinets. The Ikea sektion cabinets come with rail that can be attached the wall. The cabinets are then hung on the rail and this makes them so sturdy
We attached a filler piece between the wall and the tall cabinets at either end so that the doors can open and close properly
I nailed the piece to the cabinet and added some scrap wood pieces to the wall and nailed the filler pieces onto the scrap wood pieces
Next we added all the doors and drawers. The two tone look makes it pop a little more
Now it was time for the countertop. I chose butcher block countertop and it looks gorgeous.
Once the countertop was on, we added the bookshelves on top and secured them both to the wall and the cabinets on the side for good measure.
The last step was to add all the finishing touches like the carpet, decor, lighting and chair.
My husband surprised me a beautiful gift. A wall art of my logo. It was the perfect final addition to the space.
That’s it! I am done with my home office and I can’t wait to begin using it.
Such a beautiful space – turned out so nice 🙂
